April Cling Mounted Stamps

4 Comments28 March 2015  |  Admin

We launched our new stamps for April this week and I wanted to share a couple of cards that I've made with them.

This one features the Auricula Script stamp, a flower that I have always loved.

And the second features the delicious Birdcage Collage stamp.

Both cards have been painted with Brushos - I have a selection of colours mixed up with water which I store in little dropper bottles so I can just put a little out in a palette and use them as liquid watercolours.  The auricula was stamped on watercolour paper and the brushos behaved much better on that than they did on the thick white card I used for the birdage, where it did feather out a bit more than I was expecting (don't look too closely at the berries!).

The sentiments on both cards come from the Card Sentiments Clear stamp set and all the stamping is done with Versafine Onyx Black which really is my favourite ink for using with watercolour.

Many people think that I do the drawing for our stamps, but it's a very talented lady called Sue Page who is our star artist.  She sends me her hand drawn originals and I scan them and process them to make them suitable for manufacturing stamps.  Most of the time her artwork stands alone, but occasionally I enjoy collaging her drawings together to form new designs which is what I have done with three out of the four of this month's new stamps.

Which one is your favourite?

I have bought all four of these stamps and could not say what my favourite is. They are all fab. Will be using them at my Monday card class this month. Thanks for the inspiration.
